The vases you see here are made from a variety of woods. Cherry, madrona, cedar and manzanita are the ones I use most often. The manzanita is my particular favorite. It comes from the southern Oregon coast and is actually the root ball of the manzanita bush. If you look closely, you may see rocks imbedded in the finished piece that the roots grew around. The rose color of the manzanita is very distinctive and all the inclusions make for a very interesting speciman.
